These pieces are from my BFA thesis in 2014 from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, and are based on stills from Pakistani advertisements which I painted in oils or acrylics.
The loose strokes of these paintings echo the fast-paced and transient nature of advertisements, and the bright colours and high-energy poses reflect a make-believe world. They provide a critique on the often crass, over-the-top execution and manipulative tendencies of adverts that greatly influence peoples' spending habits and choices.
